Assistant Curator (On Contract)
Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Tracing the provenance of objects in the Museum
Authenticating, evaluating, and categorizing objects
Conduct research based on the museum’s collections
Prepare index cards of coins/stamps/currency etc.
Cataloging of coins with their complete history like rulers, mints, legends, series, monographs, and context
Investigate the Technical Analysis of each coin including weighing, thickness, diameter, and metal
Provide authentication and verification to artifacts from studying different coins catalogs
Develop descriptive labels of selected antiquities to be displayed in the Museum
Make sure about the physical existence of antiquities
Apart from cataloging and indexing of coins, will trace the missing links of different dynasties to maintain the chronological sequence in the history of coins, stamps, currency, etc
Respond to all forms of communication regarding reference and research questions from students, scholars, and the general public
Assist in the management of physical storage and daily maintenance of the collections and exhibitions, including the movement of objects in the collection and monitoring the upkeep of exhibitions.
Responsible for reserve management including space planning and proper housing creating long-term preservation of artifacts
Developing training programs with its scheduling hours
Maintain the accepted national standards at the time of acquisition and processing of archival materials
In consultation with Curator/Antiquity, the Registrar/Director prepares loans documents/contracts/Insurance documents, etc. for travel and exhibition, including soft packing and crating
Work with Curator/Director to plan future acquisitions and loans to the collection. Cultivates collaboration/networking with regional resources that have objects and materials available to loan or donate to the museum’s exhibitions
Design, and visualize informative labels and interesting exhibits
Develop and update catalogs for the Museum
Supervise the treatment of diseased/mold growth/fungus of rare coins
Eligibility Criteria:
Education:
Must have a Master’s/equivalent Degree (16 years) in Art, History, Archaeology, or equivalent from HEC recognized institution.
Age:
Maximum 42 years, as of the last date to apply. Relaxation may be allowed in case of additional relevant experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the operations of museums, including research works and development of collections.
Should have at least Two (02) research catalogs on coins.
Other Attributes:
Must have a thorough knowledge of different scripts such as Greek, Devanagari, Kharosthi, etc will be preferable.

Archival Paper Conservationist (On Contract)
Key responsibilities of the incumbent will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Undertake the inspection of the material brought in the Archives Division; make an assessment and take measures for its treatment, preservation, and storage condition.
Prepare condition reports and treatment proposals.
Management and maintenance of the laboratory including the preparation of chemical reagents and solutions.
Demonstrate excellence in performing complex conservation treatments
Working knowledge of chemical and material sciences.
Maintaining appropriate documentation of all work, including digital/photographic records.
Knowledge of preservation standards for archival matting and housing, for environmental conditions.
Generate Quarterly & Annual Reports regarding the treated records for submission to the Director.
Devise conservation strategies based on knowledge of materials, chemical processes, and aesthetic and ethical considerations.
Produce clear and accurate costing and treatment proposals and discuss the details & treatment implications with Supervisor.
Work effectively and constructively both independently and as part of a team, and be attentive and engaged with laboratory activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (14 years of education) in Chemistry (Organic/Inorganic) or related discipline from HEC-recognized institutions or a reputable foreign university.
Age:
Maximum 32 years, as of the last date to apply. Relaxation may be allowed in case of additional relevant experience.
Experience:
Minimum 02 years of working experience in conservation /restoration/preservation of archival paper records including paintings.
