The Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore (PHA) was founded in September 1998 under the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976, according to Notification No. SO(P)-3-4/98 of the Government of the Punjab Housing Urban Development & Public Health Engineering Department. Dated 21-09-1998. Later, the entity’s status was changed to Authority through “THE PARKS & HORTICULTURE AUTHORITY ACT 2012” (Act XL VII of 2012), which was duly passed by the Provincial Assembly in accordance with clause (3) of Article 116 of the constitution and published in the Punjab Gazette (Extraordinary), dated 30-06-2012.
