HIRING ANNOUNCEMENT
MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL TARIFF COMMISSION
The Ministry of Commerce is hiring three/four (3/4) Members for National Tariff Commission (NTC), Islamabad. All members of the Commission shall be employed on a full-time basis in the MP-I pay scale.
Core responsibilities
i. Carrying out all duties as enunciated in the National Tariff Commission Act 2015 as well as other trade remedy laws of the NTC and under all of Pakistan’s other trade agreements
ii. Supervising the work of the different wings and teams in the NTC
iii. Ensuring the formation of a work programme, setting priorities and ensuring quality control
iv. Managing the preparedness for the conduct of negotiations in the WTO Rules negotiations
v. Overseeing technical assistance and cooperation activities
vi. Ensuring efficient management of procedural and organizational aspects of trade remedy laws.
Tenure: Five (05) Years
Qualification as per NTC Act, 2015
All applicants must possess a master’s or professional degree or qualification from an HEC-accredited university or institute in international trade laws, business and commercial laws, economics, accountancy, tariffs and trade, commerce and trade, or trade-related subject: knowledge of trade remedy laws would be an advantage
Experience as per NTC Act, 2015
All applicants must have at least fifteen years of professional work experience in international trade laws, and business and commercial laws. economics. accountancy, harmonized tariffs. commerce and trade. tariffs and trade or another trade-related technical field: direct work experience in trade remedy laws would be an advantage
Disqualification as NTC Act, 2015
No person shall be appointed or continue as a member or an employee per of the Commission if such person
a) Has been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude
b) Has been or is adjusted insolvent
c) Has been or is adjudged insolvent
d) Is incapable of discharging his duties by reasons of physical, psychological or mental unfitness and has been so declared by a duly constituted medical board appointed by the Federal Government
e) Fails to disclose any conflict of interest at or within the time provided for such disclosure by or under this Ordinance or contravenes any of the provisions of this ordinance pertaining to unauthorized disclosure of information.

Technical officers of the NTC are encouraged to apply provided that they meet both criteria strictly (Section 5(3) NTC Act, 2015.
